Ogun set for APC launch on Monday

Preparations are in full gear in the state.
The Ogun State Chapter of the newly registered All Progressives Change, APC, has concluded arrangements to launch the party on Monday in Abeokuta.
In preparation for the public presentation of the party, the streets of the state capital have been adorned with the party flag, banners and posters.
The parties which fused together to form All Progressives Change(APC) are the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN; Congress for Progress Change, CPC, and; All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP.
The party leaders in Ogun State branch held their maiden meeting last week at which the date for the state launch was agreed on.
Party leaders from across the three geo-political zones of the state, including some federal lawmakers from the defunct parties have arrived the state ahead of the ceremony. Also, thousands of the party members from all the 236 wards have been mobilised to attend the planned lavish launch scheduled to hold at the Alake playing ground in Abeokuta.
Notable party leaders expected at the occasion include a former Ogun State Governor, Olusegun Osoba; ex-Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu and all South-West Governors of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, including the host, Ibikunle Amosun.
Also expected at the occasion are the ACN’s interim national chairman, Bisi Akande and Interim National Publicity Secretary,Lai Mohammed; a former deputy governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who recently joined APC,Tunde Oladunjoye; a former governorship candidate of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, Wale Okuniyi among others.
There would be massive security provided by the police and officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC.
Meanwhile, at the party’s inaugural meeting in Abeokuta, Mr. Amosun who chaired the occasion reminded members of the need to work round the clock in ensuring that the party in the state sets a standard in oreder to make its national leaders proud.
“We must have a rancour free APC in Ogun State. We are now one big family. All of us are owners of the party. Let us put our house in order. We should ensure strong and united party,” Mr. Amosun said.
