The new dad clashed with a cameraman on July 19 and, while he avoided a felony charge when theLos Angeles County district attorney's office decided not to prosecute, he has since been hit with a civil suit.
High-profile attorney Gloria Allred filed the lawsuit, which was obtained by the Los Angeles Times, on behalf of photographer Danny Ramos, who alleges assault, battery, negligence, and violation of civil rights during a scuffle with the rapper at the airport.
In video footage of the July incident, Ramos asks West why he won't talk to him. The celeb can be heard saying, "What you're trying to do is get me in trouble ... so I'm going to have to pay you like $250,000." West then lunges at him.
At a press conference at Allred's office attended by the media on Wednesday, she said the suit was being filed because the rapper hadn't apologized to Ramos, who claims he's still in pain from the incident and has to use a cane to walk.
"All I had done was ask him a question," said Ramos, who is seeking general and punitive damages. "I was terrified when Kanye started to come at me."
Allred said the suit was also filed because other celebrities — including Kirstie Alley, Cher, and Kylie Jenner — tweeted West their support following the incident. She said that could encourage other people to also harm paparazzi.
A lawyer for West has said that he was just trying to get the photographer to stop taking his photo.

West — who will appear on "Kris" Friday to reveal the first photo of his daughter with Kim Kardashian — will no doubt have an ally in the family when it comes to the situation: Lamar Odom, husband of Khloé Kardashian.
On Wednesday, L.A. prosecutors announced they would not file charges against the Clippers player stemming from an incident last month in Hollywood during which he reportedly grabbed a bag of camera gear from a paparazzo who was asking him questions about an alleged extramarital affair.
While video showed him putting a bag in his car and later leaving the bag on the side of a street, thedistrict attorney's office declined to file charges, citing insufficient evidence.
